Statistic Image Information.

(Statistic images) Every image that doesn't move (that stays still) is a statistic image.

This picture I chose caught my eye the minute the page loaded. The picture shows that the persons grandparents took a picture of the exact same thing when they were younger and the grandchild found the picture and thought creatively and created the picture above.

I get a ‘wannabe photographer’ feeling when I look at this picture.

The interesting thing about this image is that it shows past with all so the present all in one picture, it’s really unique, not many people would think of a great idea like this.

Day at the Beach

The day started off pretty windy with about a 20 minute shower of rain. When the sun finally popped around the clouds my friend TeRina and I decided to go to the Pt England Reserve. After waiting for it to get a bit warmer we finally left the house. When we arrived we saw one of our friends.

The tide was coming in and the wind picked up fast. We played on the park for a little bit but we were still bored. I was thinking about having a swim but I knew I would get sick! So I played on the sand and around the rocks.

Playing around the rocks kind of felt like a small adventure. I was jumping up and around when suddenly I slipped back back luckily I caught my self. A few minutes after that I almost my foot stepped into a hole causing me to fall almost to my face.

The day was kind of a bad day trapped in a good day. We giggled a groaned but I had a very nice day I really hope to have another day but with the sun shining the whole day!.

Finally it was over we left the beach and had a lovely day. But we had a stuck in the mud problem on our way back! We struggled awfully through the mud, when finally we escaped. Saturday we had quite a big adventure through the mud and in the rocks, but all day was great.

Maori Poi

"POI" is the Maori word for "ball" on a cord.

The Poi is originally made from the Maori people, Maori Woman have performed the Maori Poi for over a thousand years, a dance with a ball attached to a string swung in rhythm to a song to keep the Wahine (Women) Hands flexible to weave Flax.

In the early Maori tribes the woman job was to bring up their children and weave flax into clothing, in their spare time they would make Poi.

Back in those days Poi was made out of flax and bulrush.
They would usually twist flax leaves together for cords and adding the ball with bulrush which gave it a weighted end, the ball and cord were then joined together.

Men of the Maori tribe often used the Poi to increase strength in their hands and arms, to improve balance for later on battles.

The ancient form of a Poi has changed a lot. People now perform the Fire Poi, Tailed Poi and L.E.D Poi. These different designs of Poi were all originally came from the first generation Poi. Also the Poi has changed by the looks as you can see in pictures left to right.

Basket - Ball

For the last 4 weeks this Term t
he whole of Pt England school have the amazing chance to play Basket - Ball with a professional Basket - Ball coach. I'm not really good at observing because I don't know his name.

The first session with him was great, we learn't a few tricks and played a game. We first got taught how to hold the ball & how to throw it. The game was called "King of the court" you have to dribble the ball and try and stop others from dribbling it, the last person standing wins.

The second, third & fourth session was even better, we learnt the rules when we're dribbling in a real game. We learn't heaps of other things but I didn't really observe to remember what we did! He taught us another game this involved us moving the ball around our bodies, we start off slow then get faster! Last person standing wins!

I really enjoy practising skills and learning the proper rules for Basket - Ball. If you play it right obeying the rules I garuntee you'll have a good game! Special thanks to the Basket - Ball coach who has been teaching us these amazing steps to success.

Moorhouse

'Started from the bottom now they're here'
Moorhouse the popular Christchurch boy-band was recently voted off the New zealand show Xfactor.
All though the show is over, Moorhouse hasn't stopped rising just yet.

Marley Nanai, Brock Ashby, Jason Aileone & Roary McKenna, these four talented boys worked with Melanie Blatt. They've left auckland and are now home.

They're performances on Xfactor were great! They managed to get through too the top 4, but unfortunately New Zealand didn't vote for the best! After saying good-bye they were getting interviewed by Mai.fm and many other high people!
